The Product Stoic (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what choices you have. It applies to theproductstoic.com and to our emails.
WHO WE ARE
The Product Stoic is operated by Betty Bison Consulting (Canada) Inc., based in Canada. Pranjal Singh, Founder, is accountable for how we handle personal information. You can reach him at hello@theproductstoic.com with any privacy question, request or complaint.
WHAT WE COLLECT
Newsletter: your email address, and when and through which form you signed up.
Program invitation requests: your first name and email address and, if you choose, your LinkedIn URL, what you want help with, and whether you ticked the newsletter box.
Emails you send us.
Email activity: our email service provider records when our emails are opened and which links are clicked.
Server logs: our web host keeps standard server logs, such as the visitor’s IP address, browser and device, and the pages requested, to run and secure the site.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
To send you the welcome email and the monthly field note you signed up for. Some notes end with a short mention of The Product Stoic Program, our paid program.
To review and reply to invitation requests and emails.
To see which notes readers find useful, using open and click data.
To keep the site running and secure.
To meet our legal obligations.
CONSENT (CASL AND PIPEDA)
We send the newsletter only to people who sign up, either through a newsletter form or by ticking the newsletter box on the program request form. When you subscribe, you agree to receive a welcome email and our monthly field note. Some notes end with a short mention of The Product Stoic Program, our paid program. Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link, and we act on unsubscribes within 10 business days. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
COOKIES
The site does not use analytics or advertising cookies and loads no third-party tracking scripts. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
We do not sell your personal information. Service providers handle it on our behalf: our email service provider (newsletter sign-ups, program requests and email delivery), our web host, our email forwarding service and our email inbox provider. We remain responsible for your information when they handle it.
WHERE YOUR DATA IS PROCESSED
Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it may be accessed by the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
Newsletter: while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep your subscriber record, including your email address, sign-up details and unsubscribe date, for 3 years, so we do not email you by mistake and can show when you agreed to hear from us. Then we delete it.
Program invitation requests: 3 years after our last reply, then deleted.
Emails you send us: up to 3 years after the conversation ends.
Server logs: held by our web host for the period it sets. We do not export or keep them.
We delete expired records in a yearly clean-up, so a record may be kept up to a year longer than the periods above.
YOUR RIGHTS
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, ask us to delete it, and unsubscribe at any time. If you ask us to delete your details, we will, and we will not email you again unless you sign up again. Email hello@theproductstoic.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you have a concern, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
CHILDREN
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows the latest version.
